About

Kappa Alpha Theta, the first Greek-letter women’s fraternity, was founded to support collegiate women in the early days of coeducation. Today, Theta continues to empower its members and enrich the college experience through commitment to scholarship, sisterhood, service and personal excellence. At the Alpha Mu chapter, we live these values together every day.

Theta women are known as leaders across the campus and community.

Our members are involved in organizations such as Homecoming, Greek Week, Greeks Going Green, RAMS, GAMMA, Caring for Columbia, Dance Marathon, Tour Team, Alternative Spring Break and Mizzou for Malawi. We are also very proud to have members annually recognized by the most prestigious groups on campus such as Summer Welcome, Tap Day societies and Mizzou ’39.

Each year our chapter earns thousands of dollars for CASA, a court appointed guardian program sponsored internationally by Kappa Alpha Theta. In the fall, we host our popular Quarterbacks and Flapjacks event: a flag football tournament and a late night pancake breakfast. Our spring event, Mi CASA Es Su CASA, is a late night Mexican dinner .

Thetas are driven and hardworking, but we also know how to have a good time with sisters!  Throughout the year, we relax with Sisterhood Week, monthly birthday parties, Semiformal, a Valentine’s Day social, date parties, Formal, and a “Kite and Key” social with the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma. And of course, every day in our home is filled with laughter and a lot of fun!

Theta truly is a home away from home for its members, and is much more than a college experience. Theta serves as a place to grow and form lasting friendships. The values and experiences we have gained from Theta will last a lifetime.

I would like to invite you to get to know these wonderful women. I know you will come to admire and adore them just as I have. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or one of our officers.

Theta Love,

Mariah Mathews
